Yes! This is our favorite question because we are so proud to be setting the new gold standard for safety and transparency for prenatal vitamins.
Each batch of CareNatal prenatal vitamins undergoes 33 rigorous independent lab tests to ensure quality, purity, and potency. And because transparency is important to us, we share the testing results publicly for our customers to see for themselves!

What does CareNatal taste like?
Most soon-to-be moms who have tried CareNatal describe the flavor as being very similar to a lightly sweetened strawberry or peach juice. Strawberry Nesquik and peach tea are also commonly referenced associations. If you're not sure which flavor you will like best, try our variety pack to try both flavors!
CareNatal is purposefully sweetened and flavored very lightly. This is done so you can customize your flavor profile to your liking. You can enjoy it mixed with juice, a smoothie, sparkling water, or simply add it to still water.
What should I do if I find CareNatal not sweet enough or too sweet?
Everyone's flavor sensitivities can be different, especially during pregnancy. If you find that CareNatal is not sweet enough for your taste, simply mix it with your favorite sweetened beverage, such as juice or a smoothie.
For the small number of women who find that CareNatal is too sweet for their liking, we have found that a simple squeeze of fresh lemon is a great way to cut the sweetness and balance the flavor.
The great news is that the flavor is fully customizable! Changing what you mix your prenatal powder with can make a big difference in finding the perfect balance for your taste.
Will CareNatal offer an unflavored option?
Due to the doses of the vitamins and minerals in CareNatal, our formulas have an important challenge to mask any of the naturally bitter or metallic tastes of vitamins and minerals.
A truly unflavored version (a formula where no added flavor is needed to cover up the natural tastes of the nutrients) would require us to significantly decrease the amount of nutrients in the formula. Decreasing our prenatal's nutritional load is not a sacrifice we are willing to make. Maintaining a high quality formula with a nutritious nutrient profile is our top priority.
The good news is that CareNatal is intentionally formulated with minimal levels of sweetness and flavor, so it can easily be mixed in with a flavored drink that you prefer. The strawberry and peach flavor intensities are subtle and can be easily hidden when mixed in other drinks.
But pills are easier to take, why should I take CareNatal?
The primary reason our customers choose CareNatal Vitamin Powder instead of pills or gummies is because they prefer the extensive nutrition profile CareNatal carries compared to most prenatal pills or gummies.

Will CareNatal launch a pill prenatal vitamin?
CareNatal will never launch a pill prenatal vitamin, because our industry-leading nutritional composition would require 8-12 extra large sized capsules to deliver the same nutritional equivalent to one CareNatal stick pack. We would never wish such a burdensome daily routine on anyone, let alone the women in our CareNatal community.
While other companies are comfortable with 8+ pill routines, we recognize that this is just not a sustainable routine for most women. And what's the point of a routine if you can only stick with it for a few days? That's why we created a powder prenatal vitamin - one that delivers an extensive nutrient profile without the anguish that accompanies a multiple-pill prenatal. Not only is it easy to drink, it also tastes delicious! We thoughtfully and carefully developed this formula to be the best option for women.
What is the Omega Boost add-on that comes with the CareNatal Prenatal Powder?
Omega-3s (DHA & EPA) are important for supporting egg health and a baby's brain development. Yet 67% of prenatal vitamins do not have omega-3s. CareNatal offers two convenient forms of Omega Boost to help you meet your daily DHA & EPA needs: Mini-Capsule Omega and Liquid Omega.
The Mini-Capsule Omega Boost come in a convenient, easy-to-swallow capsule form, and they’re perfect if you prefer a capsule over a liquid. They can be taken alongside your prenatal powder or at a different time of day.
The Liquid Omega Boost comes in a 30ml/1oz dropper bottle of vegan (algae-sourced) omega-3's. Our innovative Liquid Omega-3 drops are a great alternative to the "horse-pill" size omega-3 fish oil pills. You can drink our Liquid Omega Boost by mixing it directly into your prenatal vitamin drink mix or take it separately, whichever you prefer. Omega-3s naturally have a marine or “fishy” taste, so if you notice it, try blending it with juice (orange juice is a favorite) or adding it to a meal.
Mini-Capsule Omega
What is the difference between the Mini-Capsule Omega and the Liquid Omega that comes with the prenatal vitamin?
They are both Omega-3 supplements with DHA & EPA to support you throughout all of your stages on your journey to motherhood.
Both come with the Prenatal Vitamin Powder as the Prenatal Vitamin Powder does not contain Omega-3s in the stick packs. However if you prefer, you can choose to exclude the Omega-3s from your order for a slight savings.
Tip: Most customers prefer the Mini-Capsule Omegas over the Liquid Omegas.
I forgot to refrigerate my Omega Boost Dropper? Is it still safe to use?
The Liquid Omega Boost is 100% shelf stable, however, we recommend refrigerating it to help slow natural oxidation and prevent any changes in flavor over time.
Please keep the liquid Omega Boost away from direct sunlight or intense heat exposure (do not leave it out on a porch or in a mailbox on a hot day, make sure to bring it inside as quickly as possible when delivered)
If your product wasn’t refrigerated right away, but also wasn’t exposed to excessive heat, then the product is perfectly safe to consume.
When should I start taking the CareNatal prenatal?
General recommendations suggest to start taking a prenatal vitamin at least 4 months before you conceive. The recommendation for when to start CareNatal would be no different. These extra few months allow your body the time it needs to slowly build up its essential nutrient stores. Continue taking CareNatal throughout pregnancy as well as postpartum to support your ongoing nutritional needs during recovery and adjusting to life as a new parent.
Formulation
Are omega-3s & DHA included in the prenatal vitamin powder?
The omega-3 & DHA nutrients are included with each purchase of the Prenatal Vitamin Powder in the form of an omega-3 add-on. So while the omega-3 & DHA are not inside the prenatal vitamin powder itself, it is included in your purchase because a complete prenatal vitamin should include omega-3s & DHA. If you prefer, you always have the option to remove the omega-3 add-on from your order.
Omega-3s are not incorporated into the powder because oil-based nutrients would not mix well in a powdered vitamin formula.

Does CareNatal include electrolytes?
Yes, CareNatal includes 200mg of electrolytes (magnesium & potassium). Not only does CareNatal support hydration through these added electrolytes, it also encourages you to drink more fluids by adding an additional liquid drink into your daily routine.
Magnesium has also been shown to support with cramping, constipation, and poor quality sleep*, which are common complaints during pregnancy.
Is CareNatal Vegan, Gluten-free, Non-GMO, free of major allergens, halal, and sugar-free?
Yes! Our prenatal vitamin is vegan, vegetarian, halal, non-gmo, gluten-free, sugar-free, free of the 9 major FDA allergens, and it has no artificial colors, sweeteners, or flavors.

Why is there no calcium in CareNatal?
Calcium can inhibit the absorption of iron, which is one of the most important nutrients in a prenatal vitamin. On average, American women already consume 886mg of calcium per day, through diet alone. Thus, we see it as apparent that a great modern vitamin formula needs to prioritize iron.
If you would like to add a calcium supplement alongside your CareNatal prenatal, they are widely available and some of the most affordable supplements. However, we do recommend taking calcium at least 2 hours apart from your prenatal to ensure the best maximum absorption of both.
Is there enough choline & magnesium in the prenatal vitamin powder? Do I need to take more?
Choline:
An additional choline supplement is not necessary while taking CareNatal. On average, pregnant women in the US consume 319 mg of choline per day. The total recommended daily intake for women is 450-550mg per day, thus, CareNatal was formulated with 250mg of choline to help women hit their daily requirement.
Magnesium:
Magnesium is an electrolyte with a high daily value and is rarely found in prenatals at high quantities. While it is not traditionally the role of a prenatal vitamin to deliver electrolytes, we do include 200 mg (100 mg of magnesium & 100 mg of potassium) to support maternal health.* Magnesium is a nutrient becoming more and more deficient in American diets.

What type of Folate is used in CareNatal?
Folate (vitamin B9) is one of the most critical nutrients and it comes in two forms in multivitamins:
Methylated folate
and Folic acid

What type of Vitamin A is used in CareNatal?
When formulating CareNatal, we chose a holistic approach, prioritizing science and balance along the way. We’ve included 650 mcg of retinyl palmitate (a form of retinol) and 650 mcg of beta-carotene (a carotenoid). This adds up to the total 1300mcg of Vitamin A on our label.
It is important to note that intakes exceeding 3,000mcg of retinols/retinyls may lead to adverse outcomes, which is why CareNatal is formulated at a quantity well within the definition set by the FDA, 80% below the upper limit set by the FDA.
Why does CareNatal include retinyl palmitate? Well, retinols/retinyls are more easily absorbed by your body and are naturally found in foods like fish, eggs, and dairy. Also, retinols/retinyls are the form of Vitamin A that most studies have shown to support a baby’s eye development.*
See this study here which specifically emphasizes the importance of retinols and suggests a blend of retinols and carotenoids (as CareNatal has), because they saw that carotenoids alone were not enough to raise blood serum retinol levels.

Proper Use of the CareNatal Prenatal

Shake, don't stir! Drink your prenatal from a bottle. This allows you to easily reshake the drink if you notice any natural settling of contents over time.
Start off with a 1/2 dose and slowly work your way up to a full dose over the course of a few days. This allows your body time to adjust to the extensive nutrient profile.
Customize your flavor. CareNatal is lightly flavored and gently sweetened so you can mix it with more than just water. Try juices (orange juice is a customer favorite!), smoothies, or even sparkling water! Find the combination that makes your daily prenatal a drink you actually look forward to.
And a bonus tip: Make sure to take CareNatal on a full stomach. Please don't skip this tip or else multivitamins can cause immediate and severe stomach irritation.

What drinks should I mix CareNatal with?
CareNatal can be mixed into almost any cold or room-temperature drink. Orange juice has become a favorite among our customers.
While most of our customers prefer mixing CareNatal into juice or another powder supplement drink they already take daily, smoothies and sparkling waters are a great way to introduce a little variety and explore new flavors.
We know that taste changes and aversions are common during pregnancy, so we’ve formulated CareNatal prenatal vitamins with minimal flavor and sweetness to allow you the flexibility to customize your flavor profile by mixing it with the drinks you enjoy.
For the best experience, we always recommend mixing and drinking your CareNatal drink out of a bottle. This allows you to shake your drink for a more cohesive blend and also allows you to easily give it a reshake if contents settle over time.
Can I take CareNatal while breastfeeding?
Yes! Our Prenatal Vitamin Powder is both a Prenatal & Postnatal vitamin, so it can be used during your postpartum period, including while nursing (breastfeeding or pumping).
This is a great question, because it means you recognize the importance of nutrition not just before you give birth, but after as well. Here is why you should continue taking CareNatal postpartum and while nursing:
For baby: If you choose to nurse, your body becomes the sole source of nutrients for not just a 7 pound fetus, it is now the sole source of nutrients for a 14 pound baby. The nutritional needs of your body are higher than ever, and without adequate vitamin/mineral intake, your nutrient stores will be drained. Some key nutrients in CareNatal that specifically support the quality of your breastmilk include choline, Omega-3s (DHA & EPA), vitamin D, and iodine.
For mom: Your delivery was the most physically and emotionally intense event your body will ever go through. Your body needs to recover from blood loss, a significant change in hormone levels, and mass tissue repair. You need to get enough nutrients to allow your body to repair. Some studies even suggest that nutritional deficiency after delivery may be linked to postpartum depression. (Voros et al., 2025)

Can I take CareNatal as a daily multivitamin?
Yes, CareNatal can be taken as a daily multivitamin, even if you are not pregnant. Many women choose to take CareNatal because they simply weren't able to find a multivitamin that included all of the nutrients to meet their needs.

Please note that with our Standard return policy, due to the sensitive nature of prenatal vitamins, we cannot accept returns on products that have been opened, used, and/or are not in their original condition. To initiate a return, please reach out to hello@carenatal.com. If your return is accepted, you will be provided with a prepaid return label. Please ensure that all returned items are shipped in a sturdy, rigid box to prevent any damage during transit.
For refunds on subscriptions or multi-month orders, the fair value of any items not returned or ineligible for return (defined as the product’s original price, before any subscription or bulk discounts) will be deducted from your total refund.

Does CareNatal offer discreet shipping?
Our packages are clearly labeled with "CareNatal" on the outside. However, if you prefer a more discreet option to protect your package from wandering eyes, we have a great alternative:
USPS offers a General Delivery Service, which allows you to have packages shipped to your local USPS office for pickup instead of your home address. This can be a good option if you prefer not to have your CareNatal package delivered to your home where others may see it.
To use this service, check with your local post office to confirm the branch nearest you, and use the following format for your shipping address:
Name: LEGAL NAME (as it appears on your government-issued ID)
Street Address: "GENERAL DELIVERY"
CITY, STATE, ZIP (of your nearest Post Office)
Your package will be delivered to that USPS office, and you can pick it up directly from the post office with the government-issued ID in hand that matches the name on the package shipping address.
